How Long Can Packaging Machines Work for?

Buying a top-quality VFFS machine represents a significant investment for any company and thus it is expected to be working for very long times. Achieving this goal is certainly possible but it is undoubtedly fundamental to keep good maintenance of the machine and always stick to the schedule provided by the manufacturer. That involves carrying out cleaning, inspection, lubrication operations timely, which becomes way easier whenever the machines come with a preventive maintenance system.

As an example, Universal Pack machines are built to work 24/7 and achieve very high production rates. There are records of a number of UP machines working for over 25-30 years. However, to attain such results technicians must abide by all maintenance procedures requirements and replace any worn-out component as suggested by the preventive maintenance system. For this reason, UP machines are programmed to inform the technician in advance whenever it is time to carry out some maintenance operation, ensuring that it is taken good care of the equipment.
