Job description

A packaging sector company is looking for a Junior Mechanical Engineer to join the R&D department for predominantly operational activities on plants and production machinery. The resource will be involved in testing, experimentation and technical improvement activities, working closely with Production and Maintenance.

Activities and responsibilities

  • Execution of functional tests and trials on components/mechanical assemblies
  • Assembly/installation activities, modifications and optimizations on existing machines
  • Data collection in production (measurements, observations, performance) and initial results analysis
  • Support in the validation of new solutions/mechanisms and process improvements
  • Operational collaboration with Production/Maintenance for troubleshooting and improvements

No CAD design activity is expected: “hands-on” field role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (including graduates)
  • Good manual skills and interest in practical activities on machines/plants
  • Problem-solving attitude and continuous improvement mindset
  • Precision, team spirit, reliability

Plus (preferred)

  • Basic reading of technical/mechanical drawings
  • Familiarity with measuring instruments (caliper, dial indicator, etc.)
  • Basic knowledge of pneumatics/hydraulics (even academic)
