The main challenges regarded finding a sustainable packaging that could guarantee a high-barrier solution. MNPs are hygroscopic and have active ingredients like vitamins and minerals, thus they must be protected well in their packaging. SAES Coated Films was able to develop a coating „enhancing the oxygen and water vapor barrier properties of compostable flexible packaging“. The newly developed film was then tested successfully on our packaging machines.
