Universal Pack designs and builds a wide range of custom-built stick pack packaging machines. Specifically, our vertical intermittent-motion stick pack machines can handle low-viscosity and free-flowing liquids with high dosing accuracy thanks to our gravimetric and flowmeter dosing systems.
On one hand, the gravimetric perfectly works with thinner liquid products. This dosing solution uses the gravity principle to let the liquid flow into the stick packs. The opening time of the peristaltic closure determines the dose into the stick packs. The peristaltic closure also allows the stick packs already filled to be sealed, by blocking the flowing of the product. To summarize, the gravimetric is characterized by minimum maintenance, high flexibility, good precision and ease of cleaning.
On the other hand, the flowmeter is suitable to dose semi-liquid and viscous products, with micrometrical adjustment of the dose. The difference between flowmeter and gravimetric results in the working principle. While the gravimetric is based on the opening and closing time of the peristaltic closure, the flowmeter calculates the mass of the flowing liquid through sensors.
In both cases, we design dosing nozzles and cleaning procedures to suit the characteristics of your product.
The company’s patented design to insert and fold sealing film around forming tubes represents one of the advantages for achieving maximum efficiency and reliability. Thanks to this, Universal Pack machines are known worldwide.
Our stick pack machines for liquids are a compact solution combining the highest output with a small footprint. These solutions include many advantages such as great dose accuracy, minor wrapping material waste, easy handling and cleaning. Moreover, our user-friendly and modular stick pack machines allow our customers to reduce downtime and fulfill their increasingly high production demands.
Universal Pack stick pack machines are specifically-dedicated to single-dose packages. For example, we can dose from 0,1 up to 100 ml. of liquids, semi-liquids and low-viscosity products in a stick pack, the dimensions of which vary depending on your marketing goals, nature of the products and production requirements.
Moreover, we provide you with the possibility to easily integrate your stick pack machine in a Universal Pack packaging line for cartoning. Our lines allow you to insert from 1 to up to 100 or more stick packs in one carton. We have developed patented counting units for any amount of packages to be picked up and put into cartons. In recent years, our philosophy is to save as much material and product as possible, both for economic and environmental sustainability.
Universal Pack stick pack machines for free-flowing liquids can process all typical heat-sealable composite films, such as: PAP-ALU-PE (paper – aluminum – polyethylene), PET-ALU-PE (polyethene terephthalate – aluminium – polyethene) and cold sealable materials. Our machines can also work with sustainable laminates such as PP (polypropylene), PLA (polylactic acid), Bio-PE (bio-based polyethene), and more on request.
Our non-stop research in reducing the packaging industry carbon footprint resulted in streamlined machinery design for processing recycled, recyclable and compostable laminates. LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) is used to measure the environmental impact of our products and identify optimal ways to reduce it. It is a 360° analysis that goes beyond the mere packaging produced and involves every step of the packaging machinery production process. We develop our solutions shoulder-to-shoulder with the main global film suppliers and test them in agreement with major multinational companies in order to provide them with a turnkey solution able to produce eco-packages.
